After our party we had a week left of school. The kids were in full holiday mode, so Nick and I were exhausted this week. It was Nick's first time experiencing Christmas time in an elementary school! We spent the week cleaning up from the party and packing for Michigan. We left for MI right after school on the 19th and drove straight through the night arriving at my parent's house around 5:00 a.m.

We had a great Christmas with family and friends. Ty and Cole really got into Christmas this year, so we had a great time watching them open their presents (and some of ours too!). As always time goes way too fast, and before we knew it we were headed home to Georgia. I was bummed that I didn't get to see as many friends as I would have liked. It is such a busy time of year!
On the 30th we headed up to our rental house in Tennessee. This was not the same house as our Thanksgiving retreat. Nick wanted to try a different river. Nick's brother Brett and his girlfriend Crystal drove down from Michigan and friends Kelly and Cathy joined us from Georgia This huge house was right on the river, so Nick enjoyed fishing in the backyard. He didn't catch as many as he would have liked, but had fun anyway! We spent the rest of the time hiking (beautiful!), relaxing, playing games, and we even had some time to visit a winery for some wine tasting! We had an awesome New Year's Eve dinner of steak and crab legs. Yummy! We visited Bristol Caverns and finally headed home on January 2nd.

Now we're back to school after a wonderful break! We hope that all of you had a wonderful Christmas with your family. Best wishes for 2009!!
Love,
Nick & AJ

Yes, I had been meaning to update, but your message reminded me. Call me tomorrow. Hopefully we can catch each other! :)
Your mom and I really enjoyed having both of you home for Christmas. You don't realize how important it is to us having everyone together again.
Love,
Dad
