We awoke early this morning ready to cheer Nick on as he ran the Marine Corps. Marathon. The boys were up, dressed, ready, and out the door by 6:15. I met Kelly and Cathy for breakfast and then we headed to mile one. We were able to see him several times throughout the race...mile 1, 10, 16, and the finish (mile 26.2). He looked strong at each location (a little less strong at the finish:) ) and we enjoyed cheering him on as he ran through our nation's capitol. It was neat watching them run past locations such as the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and Arlington National Cemetery.
He finished with a time of 3 hours and 33 minutes. Not his best time ever, but we're extremely proud!! Kelly, Cathy, and I are now back at the hotel making this post. We are then going to meet up with Nick after he has soaked in a tub of ice. He's requested a beer!! :) If he's up to it we are going to go and do some sightseeing today.
Check out our pictures. We'll update again soon!
